He has lived it as much as studied it. An emigrant himself — from Nebraska to China, France, Luxembourg and now Brazil — he became a Luxembourgish citizen through ancestry in 2014, then built LuxCitizenship, the firm that has since helped more than 3,000 Americans claim dual citizenship. That work produced something rarer than clients: data on a movement nobody was counting. Today he puts it to use as founder and editor-in-chief of the American Emigration Revue and as a documentary filmmaker with Connaissance Films.
