A growing number of Americans are rediscovering their Luxembourg heritage and taking steps to officially reclaim their nationality. In an article published by RTL.lu, LuxCitizenship founder Daniel Atz is featured for his work helping thousands of U.S. citizens apply for Luxembourgish citizenship through ancestry.

Lisa Wilkie has never yet been to Luxembourg, Daniel Atz until now one time. He has been Luxembourgish since 2013. Lisa has submitted her application recently.
This is possible through Article 29 in the Naturalization law of the 23rd October 2008. This states that descendants in direct line of people who in the year 1900 had Luxembourgish nationality can let themselves be naturalized. Since the law entered into force in 2009, more than 800 applications have come from the USA. Especially in the last 3 years the demand has massively gone up. Until now this year alone 315 requests have come in! Evil tongues claim President Trump would have something to do with it. Is that so?
